Einmusik-Multiple Life EP

Some fresh sounds of summer brought to us this week by Samuel Kindermann, the man more commonly known as Einmusik. Based out of Berlin, the man’s yet another link in the chain staking Berlin’s claim as one of the most dominant forces in electronic music today. Producing those Einmusik sounds for a decade now, his style varies from track to track and this is evident in his latest EP Multiple Life. This variation has nothing short of a positive effect and it shows the strength and depth of his work.

The EP open’s up with a cracking tune called ‘Do You’. It’s one that begins slowly with the keyboard playing over the vocals before breaking into a powerful set of piano chords that are the dominant force behind this track. Ever so slightly the rhythm builds and builds throughout this golden gem and the breakdown reveals the heavy bassline and the skippy hi-hats. This precedes the return of those addictive piano chords before they all combine once more to give us a slice of that summer sound.

Following the heights of the opener was going to be a challenge in my books but the German does it quite well with the second track. The title track Multiple Life is full of emotion and expresses this with a futuristic edge. A great track.

Kindermann finishes off the EP with Time Rolls On, a nice deep groover with the pace determined nicely by  steady slow claps. It’s a relaxing end to a quality three track release.

Released on his own imprint, Einmusika Recordings the EP fits in perfectly with what he’d hoped the label would bring to music lovers. Melodies and emotions coming together nicely to produce that Einmusika sound for the electronic scene.
